Situated 600 m above Basse Vallée in Saint Philippe, this guesthouse is the perfect place for a
peaceful, rejuvenating stay in the heart of a forest of bois de couleurs that has grown and spread
across the southern slopes of the volcano.
It is accessible to everyone, as you can reach it by car via the forest road.
Our accommodation is simple but comfortable, providing an authentic experience

Creole cuisine : you will be served traditional Creole cuisine, made mainly from fresh local
ingredients. Meals (dinner and breakfast) are a great chance to socialise with other guests.

Hiking and excursions : Basse Vallée is the last stretch of the National Footpath GRR2, nicknamed
the ‘Great Crossing’ of Reunion, which can be completed in 10-14 days from Saint-Denis.
It is also the crossroads for a number of other hikes, some harder than others, such as Matouta, Mare
Longue, Piton de Bert and Ravine Vincendo.
Some require good physical preparation and the right equipment – feel free to ask us for advice.

A friendly reminder : these are isolated premises where operations may be limited due to difficulties
in supplying water and energy sources. Waste disposal is also difficult to manage, as its volume
exceeds the building’s operating capacity. On a protected site like this, eco-responsible behaviour is therefore essential: :

• Take spare batteries before you leave because you won’t be able to recharge your electronic
  devices.
• Take your own rubbish with you, including biodegradables
• Water is scarce and should be used sparingly. It cannot be provided free of charge. You can only
  buy bottled water
