One of the most visited hamlets in Mafate, Marla is perched at an altitude of 1,620 m, the highest part of the cirque. The panoramic views are breath-taking, encircled by steep ramparts. Careful: the early morning frosts in winter can take visitors by surprise!

from the Gîte de Marla
Explore the footpaths from Roche-Plate to Marla at the foot of the Maïdo rampart, or hike from La
Nouvelle to Marla via Maison Laclos, offering breath-taking panoramas and moments to relax by
refreshing natural pools. Another option is the trek from Marla to the Col des Boeufs car park, a hike
that plunges you into the heart of Mafate, with a final ascent to the Col des Boeufs providing
unforgettable views at an altitude of 1956m.
